Three elected members of the board of directors of the San Gorgonio Pass Water Agency were sworn into office recently.  Dr. Blair M. Ball was elected in November to represent Division 4, which includes most of Cherry Valley and parts of the City of Beaumont. Dr. Ball, a resident of Cherry Valley, is a doctor of optometry and a longtime business owner in Beaumont.  Incumbents John Jeter, representing Division 3, and Raymond Morris, at-large representative, were also elected in November.  Also sworn into office was Lenny Stephenson after his appointment in December to fill the vacant Division 5 position due to the death of Ted Haring.  Stephenson, a resident of Calimesa, recently retired from a 30-year career in the construction industry as a safety professional.

At its January 5 meeting, the Board re-elected its three officers for two-year terms.  John Jeter was re-elected President, Bill Dickson was re-elected Vice President, and Mary Ann Melleby was re-elected Treasurer.  Jeter, an ex-Marine, retired as an attorney with the California State Compensation Insurance fund.  He is a resident of Banning and has been President since 2004.  Dickson, a resident of Banning, is a retired Navy Corpsman who is a local agent for Direct Loan America.  He is very active in Banning civic affairs.  Melleby, also a resident of Banning, is retired from the Monte Vista Water District in Montclair and is a Trustee of the University of La Verne.
