Mary Ann Melleby was appointed to the Board on April 18, 2011 and as an at large director represents the entire Agency service area from Calimesa to Cabazon.  

She was born and raised in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.  She lived in upstate New York for five years before moving to California in 1972.  She resided in La Verne and San Dimas prior to moving to Sun Lakes, Banning in 2003.  Mary Ann, and her husband Michael, have a blended family of 4 children and 11 grandchildren.  She is a musician – singer, hand bell ringer and pianist.

She has a diploma in nursing, a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism/Public Relations and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management, University of La Verne.  She was a registered nurse for five years in Pennsylvania and New York.   Her career encompasses 20 years as a public relations executive for an acute care hospital, retirement community and a health sciences university.  She recently retired after 13 years as the public affairs director at Monte Vista Water District in Montclair, CA.

Mary Ann is a member of the University of La Verne Board of Trustees, and a member and past president of the American Association of University Women, Pomona Valley Branch. She was the first woman president of the West Covina Chamber of Commerce.  She has several awards for marketing communications and public outreach programming.

Her term runs through November 2012.
